The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) has duties and responsibilities not only as data providers stau information, but also as a coordinator of activities perstatiskan in Indonesia, as stated in Law No. 16 of 1997 on Statistics and Government Regulation No. 51 of 1999 on the Implementation Statistics , Coordination and organization of statistical cooperation pleh BPS conducted with government agencies, research institutions, or society, both at central and regional levels.
Utilization of statistical data generated pleh BPS as peyelenggara statistical activities are broad, both for the domestic government, foreign affairs, and society, has the characteristics of cross-sectoral, national or regional, and macro. The statistical data can be used by government agencies as supporting data in policy making and development planning. Meanwhile, people usually use statistical data as the data supporting the planning, research, essay, thesis, etc. Therefore, BPS always try to plan the marketing strategy of statistical data quality, in terms of the presentation, accuracy and recency of data.
In producing and presenting statistical data, BPS always strives to provide maximum service to the user data. It is a must as a public institution provider of data and statistical information as well as a form of responsibility and the mandate of the government carried.
BPS supply unit Integrated Statistics Service (PST) for the user data that comes directly either to the BPS, BPS provincial and regency / municipality BPS to find the data and statistical information they need. The existence of the PST unit is expected to simplify the user data to be looking for data and statistical information for the service provided is a single door or often known by one gate service.
In order to improve the quality of data generated and the quality of services provided, BPS conducted a survey called the Survey of Data Requirements (SKD). SKD activity was first carried out in 2005 in the BPS. In 2008, a pilot survey conducted in the SKD BPS BPS and five provinces, namely Bangka Belitung BPS, BPS Lampung, West Java BPS, BPS Special Province of Yogyakarta, and Bali BPS. SKD activities in 2009 and 2010 conducted in BPS and 11 BPS different provinces. Since the year 2011, SKD held in BPS and 33 BPS provinces throughout Indonesia. In 2014, SKD begin to be implemented until the district / city level.
SKD 2015 implemented until tingkau district / city to make changes to the questionnaire. Implementation of the survey this year is expected to obtain more input from the user data, which can improve performance BPS as a provider of data and statistical information.
In general, the purpose of the implementation of the SKD 2015 is to get an evaluation of data users as a support in order to improve the quality of services as well as data quality and statistical information. In particular, SKD 2015 aims to: Knowing the segmentation of the use of the data, knowing the type of data required by users of the data seen from the level of presentation and the data period as well as the suitability of the data obtained data users know the level of user satisfaction data against the data and statistical information and services BPS, produce information for the subject matter to improve the availability and quality of the data it produces, Know the Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
Implementation of the SKD 2015 census carried out within a period of three months ie from May to July 2015.
