The election of Indonesia as the presidency of the G-20 countries at the end of 2021 has brought Indonesia into the orbit of large, very influential countries, which have excellent information systems and resilience. For this reason, a very strategic data exchange has been agreed which is summarized in the New DGI (Data Gap Initiative) which covers 4 areas, namely climate change, wealth distribution information and household data, Fintech and financial inclusion, access to private and administrative data and data sharing.
The demand for New DGI data not only requires new standards but also requires very high consistency and coherence, this is in line with the vision of BPS as a Provider of Quality Statistical Data for Advanced Indonesia.
For the National Balance, this is a momentum to make improvements and provide more up-to-date data on the preparation of GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and GRDP (Gross Regional Domestic Product). To realize accurate GDP/GDP and demand for New DGI data, what is needed is not only basic data, but the availability of infrastructure and statistical superstructure.
Rest assured that no matter how small the contribution we make and we give sincerely to BPS, it will be part of the history of BPS progress 😊
