Development consumer price index Jawa Timur March 2019

In March 2019 East Java experienced inflation of 0.16 percent. Five cities experienced inflation and three cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation in Malang City reached 0.36 percent, while Kota Probolinggo experienced the highest deflation of 0.12 percent.
In March 2019 from seven expenditure groups, six groups experienced inflation and one group experienced deflation. The group that experienced the highest inflation was the Transportation, Communication and Financial Services group of 0.55 percent, while the group that experienced deflation was the Foodstuffs group by 0.08 percent.
The main commodity that contributed the most to East Java inflation in March 2019 was air transportation, garlic and shallots. Whereas the commodities that give the biggest contribution are the deflation of rice, chicken meat, and tilapia.
The inflation rate for the East Java calendar year in March 2019 reached 0.32 percent, while the year-on-year inflation rate (March 2019 against March 2018) reached 2.35 percent.
In March 2019 the core group experienced inflation of 0.17 percent, the government regulated component experienced inflation of 0.42 percent, and the volatile component experienced deflation of 0.14 percent
