Abstract
• The value of East Java exports in April 2020 reached USD
1.37 billion, down by 30.87 percent compared to March 2020. The value compared
to April 2019 decreased by 12.85 percent.
• April 2020 non-oil and gas exports reached USD 1.37
billion, down by 29.39 percent compared to March. This value compared to April
2019 decreased by 7.28 percent.
• April 2020 oil and gas exports reached USD 0.66 million,
down by 98.44 percent compared to March. This value also decreased by 99.30
percent when compared to April 2019.
• The main categories of non-oil and gas exports in April
2020 were Animal / Vegetable Fats and Oils of USD 129.77 million, followed by
Timber and Timber Products of USD 114.67 million and Fish and Shrimp of USD
98.05 million.
• Cumulatively, during January-April 2020, exports out of
East Java amounted to USD 7.14 billion, up 8.32 percent compared to
January-April 2019, amounting to USD 6.59 billion.
• The biggest non-oil and gas export destination countries
in January-April 2020 are Japan reaching USD 1,017.57 million (with a role of
14.59 percent) followed by exports to the United States of USD 862.99 million
or with a role of 12.37 percent, and to Singapore in the amount of USD 782.88
million with a role of 11.22 percent. Non-oil and gas exports to the ASEAN
region reached
USD 1,579.01 million or with a contribution of 22.64
percent, while non-oil and gas exports to the European Union amounted to USD
505.67 million (7.25 percent).
• The Import Value of East Java in April 2020 reached USD
1.81 billion, an increase of 1.15 percent compared to March. This number has
decreased
by 17.46 percent compared to April 2019.
• April 2020 non-oil and gas imports reached USD 1.64
billion, up 9.96 percent compared to March. The non-oil and gas import value
decreased by 6.29 percent compared to April 2019.
• April 2020 oil and gas imports amounted to USD 168.42
million or decreased by 43.22 percent compared to March. Compared to April
2019, this value decreased by 61.81 percent.
• The main categories of non-oil and gas imports in April
2020 were the Mechanical Machinery / Aircraft (HS 84) goods group at USD 176.64
million, followed by the Iron and Steel (HS 72) goods group valued at USD
131.02 million and the Ampas / goods group Remaining Food Industry (HS 23) in
the amount of USD 129.58 Million.
• Cumulatively, during January-April 2020, imports entering
East Java were USD 7.24 billion, down 6.85 percent compared to January-April
2019, which was USD 7.77 billion
• The largest countries of origin of non-oil and gas
imported goods during January-April 2020 from China were USD 1.55 billion
(26.38 percent), followed by the United States with USD 445.07 million (7.55
percent) and imports from Thailand amounting to USD 308, 52 million (5.24
percent). Non-oil and gas imports from the ASEAN group of USD 932.78 million
(15.83 percent), while non-oil and gas imports from the European Union reached
USD 507.79 million (8.62 percent).
