East Java Farmer's Exchange Rate (NTP) in May 2022 rose 0.50 percent

Abstract

  • The East Java Farmer's Exchange Rate (NTP) in May 2022 rose 0.50 percent from 100.02 to 100.52. The increase in NTP was due to the price index received by farmers (It) which increased by 1.06 percent, higher than the index of price paid by farmers (Ib) which rose by 0.56 percent.
  • In May 2022, two agricultural sub-sectors experienced an increase in FTT, two sub-sectors experienced a decline and one sub-sector did not experience a change. The sub-sector that experienced the largest increase in FTT occurred in the Horticulture sub-sector by 5.98 percent from 97.67 to 103.51, followed by the Food Crops sub-sector by 0.06 percent from 98.99 to 99.05. The sub-sector that experienced the largest decrease in FTT was the Fisheries sub-sector by 1.10 percent from 104.16 to 103.01, followed by the Livestock sub-sector by 0.56 percent from 102.89 to 102.32. Meanwhile, the People's Plantation Crops sub-sector did not experience a change in FTT.
  • Of the five provinces in Java that calculated NTP in May 2022, two provinces experienced an increase in NTP while three provinces experienced a decrease. The largest increase in NTP occurred in Central Java Province by 1.02 percent, followed by East Java by 0.50 percent. Meanwhile, the largest decrease in NTP occurred in the Province of the Special Region of Yogyakarta by 0.84 percent, followed by Banten by 0.48 percent and West Java by 0.28 percent.
