Abstract

EXPORT DEVELOPMENT
  • The value of East Java's exports in November 2019 reached USD 1.69 billion, an increase of 0.94 percent compared to October. This value compared to November 2018 rose by 4.87 percent.
  • Non-oil and gas exports in November 2019 reached USD 1.58 billion, down 1.40 percent compared to October. This value compared to November 2018 rose by 4.98 percent.
  • Oil and gas exports in November 2019 reached USD 115.50 million, up by 49.36 percent compared to October. This value rose by 3.44 percent when compared to November 2018.
  • The main categories of non-oil and gas exports in November 2019 are Jewelry / Gems at USD 215.99 million, followed by Timber and Wood Goods at USD 115.77 million and Animal / Vegetable Fats and Oils at USD 113.88 million.
  • Cumulatively, during January-November 2019, exports out of East Java were USD 18.56 billion, down 1.58 percent compared to January-November 2018, amounting to USD 18.86 billion.
  • The biggest non-oil and gas export destination countries in January-November 2019 are Japan reaching USD 2,719.66 million (with a role of 15.35 percent) followed by exports to the United States of USD 2,402.58 million or with a role of 13.56 percent, and to China USD 2,031.43 million with a role of 11.47 percent. Non-oil and gas exports to the ASEAN region reached USD 3,370.60 million or with a contribution of 19.03 percent, while non-oil and gas exports to the European Union were USD 1,473.49 million (8.32 percent).

DEVELOPMENT OF IMPORT
  • The value of East Java's imports in November 2019 reached USD 2.16 billion, an increase of 8.85 percent compared to October. This figure has decreased 6.77 percent compared to November 2018.
  • Non-oil and gas imports in November 2019 reached USD 1.74 billion, up 6.59 percent compared to October. The value of non-oil and gas imports rose by 3.00 percent compared to November 2018.
  • Oil and gas imports in November 2019 amounted to USD 414.05 million or an increase of 19.48 percent compared to October. Compared to November 2018, the value dropped by 33.36 percent.
  • The main categories of non-oil and gas imports in November 2019 are the Iron and Steel (HS 72) group of USD 213.13 million, followed by the Mechanical Aircraft (HS 84) group of goods worth USD 207.58 million and the Fruit group (HS 08 ) in the amount of USD 130.21 Million.
  • Cumulatively, during January-November 2019, imports entering East Java amounted to USD 21.29 billion, down by 9.69 percent compared to January-November 2018, amounting to USD 23.57 billion.
  • The largest countries of origin of non-oil and gas imported goods during January-November 2019 from China were USD 5,276.91 million (30.43 percent), followed by the United States at USD 1,217.99 million (7.02 percent) and imports from Thailand at USD 882.06 million (5.09 percent). Non-oil and gas imports from the ASEAN group of USD 2,655.50 million (15.32 percent), while non-oil and gas imports from the European Union reached USD 1,482.26 million (8.55 percent).
