Abstract

• The export value of East Java in November 2020 reached USD 1.62 billion or an increase of 2.07 percent compared to October 2020. This value compared to November 2019 decreased by 4.75 percent.
• November 2020 non-oil and gas exports reached USD 1.45 billion or decreased by 5.46 percent compared to October 2020. This value compared to November 2019 decreased by 8.27 percent.
• November 2020 oil and gas exports reached USD 171.93 million or an increase of 208.53 percent compared to October 2020. This value increased by 40.53 percent when compared to November 2019.
• The main categories of non-oil and gas exports in November 2020 were Animal / Vegetable Fats & Oils (HS 15) with a value of USD 131.66 million, followed by Timber and timber products (HS 44) with a value of USD 125.18 million, and Fish and Shrimp (HS 03) with a value of USD 93.93 million.
• Cumulatively, during January - November 2020, exports out of East Java amounted to USD 17.44 billion or decreased by 6.05 percent compared to January - November 2019.
• The largest non-oil and gas export destination country in January - November 2020 was Japan reaching USD 2.62 billion (with a role of 15.64 percent) followed by exports to China amounting to USD 2.49 billion (with a role of 14.89 percent) and to the United States of USD 2.30 billion (with a role of 13.71 percent). Non-oil and gas exports to the ASEAN region reached USD 3.15 billion (with a contribution of 18.78 percent), while non-oil and gas exports to the European Union amounted to USD 1.30 billion (with a contribution of 7.73 percent).

• The Import Value of East Java in November 2020 reached USD 1.78 billion, an increase of 23.69 percent compared to October 2020. This figure actually decreased by 17.22 percent compared to November 2019.
• November 2020 non-oil and gas imports reached USD 1.51 billion, an increase of 25.96 percent compared to October 2020. The value of non-oil and gas imports decreased by 13.50 percent compared to November 2019.
• November 2020 oil and gas imports amounted to USD 277.98 million, an increase of 12.67 percent compared to October 2020. Compared to November 2019, this value actually decreased by 32.86 percent.
• The main non-oil and gas import goods category in November 2020 were the Machinery / Mechanical Aircraft (HS 84) goods group amounting to USD 143.31 million, followed by the Jewelry / Gems goods group (HS 71) valued at USD 127.25 million and the Iron and Steel (HS 72) amounting to USD 103.90 million.
• Cumulatively, during January - November 2020, imports entering East Java amounted to USD 17.95 billion or decreased by 15.66 percent compared to January - November 2019, which was USD 21.29 billion
• The country of origin of the largest non-oil and gas imports during January - November 2020 from China amounted to USD 4.37 billion (28.98 percent), followed by the United States at USD 1.15 billion (7.61 percent) and imports from Thailand amounting to USD 702 , 36 million (4.66 percent). Non-oil and gas imports from the ASEAN group of countries amounted to USD 2.11 billion (14.01 percent), while non-oil and gas imports from the European Union reached USD 1.28 billion (8.46 percent).
