Abstract

• The economy of East Java in Quarter I-2021 as measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reached Rp. 587.33 trillion, while the GRDP at constant prices reached Rp. 406.43 trillion.

• The economy of East Java in Quarter I-2021 when compared to Quarter I-2020 (y-on-y) contracted 0.44 percent. From the production side, the deepest contraction occurred in the Transportation and Warehousing Business Field by 13.30 percent, followed

Other Services by 8.97 percent and Corporate Services by 8.06 percent. From the expenditure side, the deepest contraction was in the Overseas Export Component of 9.94 percent, followed by Household Consumption Expenditure of 1.92 percent, and PMTB of 2.68 percent.

• On a q-to-q basis, the economy of East Java in Quarter I-2021 grew 0.11 percent. From the production side, the highest growth occurred in the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Business Fields at 12.23 percent, followed by Wholesale and Retail Trade, Car and Motorcycle Repair at 2.04 percent and Water Supply, Waste Management and Recycling at 0.93. percent. From the expenditure side, the highest growth occurred in the Foreign Import Component of 10.72 percent, while other components experienced contraction.
