Abstract

The economy of East Java in 2021 as measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) at current prices reached Rp 2,454.50 trillion, while GRDP at constant prices reached Rp 1,669.12 trillion.
The economy of East Java in Quarter IV-2021 compared to Quarter III-2021 increased by 0.14 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, the highest growth occurred in the Transportation and Warehousing Business Field which grew by 19.62 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth occurred in the Government Consumption Expenditure Component which grew by 9.61 percent.
The economy of East Java in Quarter IV-2021 compared to Quarter IV-2020 increased by 4.59 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, the highest growth occurred in the Construction Business Field, which grew by 9.91 percent. From the expenditure side, the highest growth occurred in the Foreign Export Component which grew by 8.49 percent.
East Java's economy up to Quarter IV-2021 increased by 3.57 percent (c-to-c). In terms of production, the highest growth occurred in the Wholesale and Retail Trade, Car and Motorcycle Repair, which grew by 7.83 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth occurred in the Component of Household Consumption Expenditure which grew by 2.69 percent.
