Abstract

• The value of East Java exports in February 2020 reached USD 2.00 billion, an increase of 11.29 percent compared to January 2020. The value compared to February 2019 increased by 18.63 percent.

• February 2020 non-oil and gas exports reached USD 1.91 billion, an increase of 8.30 percent compared to January. This value compared to February 2019 increased by 19.05 percent.

• Oil and gas exports in February 2020 reached USD 93.79 million, an increase of 153.49 percent compared to January. This value increased by 10.65 percent compared to February 2019.

• The main category of non-oil and gas export goods in February 2020 was Jewelry / Gems amounting to USD 637.32 million, followed by Timber and Products from Wood at USD 114.47 million and Animal / Vegetable Fats and Oils for USD 95.65 million.

• Cumulatively, during January-February 2020, exports out of East Java amounted to USD 3.80 billion or an increase of 18.24 percent compared to January-February 2019, amounting to USD 3.21 billion.

• The largest non-oil and gas export destination country in January-February 2020 was Japan which reached USD 527.68 million (with a role of 14.39 percent) followed by exports to Singapore amounting to USD 498.43 million or with a role of 13.59 percent, and to the United States USD 454.35 million with a role of 12.39 percent. Non-oil and gas exports to the ASEAN region reached USD 925.30 million or a contribution of 25.23 percent, while non-oil and gas exports to the European Union were USD 267.35 million (7.29 percent).

• East Java Import Value in February 2020 reached USD 1.61 billion or decreased by 20.56 percent compared to January. This figure has decreased by 8.20 percent compared to February 2019.

• February 2020 non-oil and gas imports reached USD 1.21 billion, down 21.21 percent compared to January. The value of non-oil and gas imports decreased by 15.19 percent compared to February 2019.

• Oil and gas imports in February 2020 amounted to USD 394.11 million or decreased by 18.46 percent compared to January. Compared to February 2019, this value increased by 23.08 percent.

• The main categories of non-oil and gas imports in February 2020 were the Machinery / Mechanical Aircraft (HS 84) for USD 178.36 million, followed by the Iron and Steel goods (HS 72) for USD 123.59 million and the Wheat-Wheat Group ( HS 10) in the amount of USD 107.95 million.

• Cumulatively, during January-February 2020, imports entering East Java amounted to USD 3.63 billion or decreased by 4.41 percent compared to January-February 2019, amounting to USD 3.80 billion

• The largest countries of origin of non-oil and gas imported goods during January-February 2020 from China were USD 694.91 million (25.21 percent), followed from the United States with USD 198.07 million (7.19 percent) and imports from Argentina of USD 151, 31 million (5.49 percent). Non-oil and gas imports from the ASEAN group of countries amounted to USD 485.73 million (17.62 percent), while non-oil and gas imports from the European Union reached USD 282.73 million (10.26)
