Abstract

• East Java's export value in October 2020 reached USD 1.59 billion, an increase of 0.38 percent compared to September 2020. This value compared to October 2019 decreased by 5.00 percent.
• October 2020 non-oil and gas exports reached USD 1.53 billion, an increase of 0.72 percent compared to September 2020. This value compared to October 2019 decreased by 4.04 percent.
• Oil and gas exports in October 2020 reached USD 55.67 million or decreased by 8.28 percent compared to September 2020. This value decreased by 25.56 percent when compared to October 2019.
• The main category of non-oil and gas export goods in October 2020 was Copper (HS 74) with a value of USD 127.57 million, followed by Timber and timber products (HS 44) with a value of USD 123.69 million, and Animal / Vegetable Fats & Oils ( HS 15) with a value of USD 118.07 million.
• Cumulatively, during January - October 2020, exports out of East Java amounted to USD 15.83 billion or decreased by 6.15 percent compared to January - October 2019, which was USD 16.87 billion.
• The largest non-oil and gas export destination country in January - October 2020 was Japan reaching USD 2.39 billion (with a role of 15.60 percent) followed by exports to China amounting to USD 2.27 billion (with a role of 14.80 percent) and to the United States of America amounting to USD 2.08 billion (with a role of 13.60 percent). Non-oil and gas exports to the ASEAN region reached USD 2.88 billion (with a contribution of 18.79 percent), while non-oil and gas exports to the European Union amounted to USD 1.18 billion (with a contribution of 7.73 percent).

 The Import Value of East Java in October 2020 reached USD 1.44 billion or decreased by 17.51 percent compared to September 2020. This figure also decreased by 25.28 percent compared to October 2019.
• October 2020 non-oil and gas imports reached USD 1.20 billion or decreased by 16.41 percent compared to September 2020. The value of non-oil and gas imports decreased by 22.74 percent compared to October 2019.
• Oil and gas imports in October 2020 amounted to USD 246.72 million or decreased by 22.45 percent compared to September 2020. Compared to October 2019, this value also decreased by 35.53 percent.
• The main categories of non-oil and gas imports in October 2020 were the Iron and Steel goods (HS 72) for USD 114.16 million, followed by the Machinery / Mechanical Aircraft (HS 84) goods at USD 112.02 million and the Fruit- fruit (HS 08) amounting to USD 88.40 million.
• Cumulatively, during January - October 2020, imports entering East Java amounted to USD 16.17 billion or decreased by 15.48 percent compared to January - October 2019, which was USD 19.13 billion
• The country of origin of the largest non-oil and gas imports during January - October 2020 from China amounted to USD 3.90 billion (28.75 percent), followed by the United States at USD 1.05 billion (7.74 percent) and imports from Thailand amounting to USD 652 , 61 million (4.81 percent). Non-oil and gas imports from the ASEAN group of countries amounted to USD 1.91 billion (14.08 percent), while non-oil and gas imports from the European Union reached USD 1.16 billion (8.54 percent).
