Abstract

• The East Java economy based on the amount of Gross Regional Domestic Product (PDRB) at the 2020 current price reached Rp 2,299.46 trillion and at constant 2010 prices reached Rp 1,610.42 trillion.
• The economy of East Java in 2020 (c-to-c) contracted 2.39 percent. From the production side, the deepest contraction occurred in Other Service Business Fields by 13.80 percent, followed by Transportation and Warehousing at 11.16 percent and Provision of Accommodation and Food and Drink at 8.87 percent. In terms of expenditure, the deepest contraction of PMTB was 4.31 percent, followed by Government Consumption Expenditures 3.18 percent and Household Consumption Expenditures 0.83 percent.
• The economy of East Java in Quarter IV-2020 compared to Quarter IV-2019 (y-on-y) contracted by 2.64 percent. From the production side, the deepest contraction was in the Construction Business Field by 9.53 percent, followed by Corporate Services at 9.49 percent and Other Services at 9.43 percent. From the expenditure side, the highest contraction was in PMTB by 7.64 percent and Government Consumption Expenditure by 6.60 percent.
• On a q-to-q basis, East Java's economy in Quarter IV-2020 contracted by 0.94 percent. From the production side, the deepest contraction occurred in the Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery Business Fields at 26.77 percent, followed by Construction at 4.13 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the deepest contraction of foreign exports was 13.34 percent, followed by PMTB 2.01 percent.
