Abstract

• The export value of East Java in March 2021 reached USD 2.00 billion, an increase of 17.94 percent compared to February 2021. This value compared to March 2020 increased by 1.17 percent.
• Non-oil and gas exports in March 2021 reached USD 1.84 billion, an increase of 22.45 percent compared to February 2021. However, this value compared to March 2020 decreased by 4.95 percent.
• Oil and gas exports in March 2021 reached USD 161.69 million or decreased by 16.90 percent compared to February 2021. However, this value increased by 279.98 percent when compared to March 2020.
• The main categories of non-oil and gas export goods in March 2021 are Animal / Vegetable Fats and Oils (HS 15) with a value of USD 189.30 million, followed by Timber and Wood Products (HS 44) with a value of USD 148.45 million, and Copper ( HS 74) with a value of USD 142.30 million.
• Cumulatively, during January - March 2021, exports out of East Java amounted to USD 5.24 billion or decreased by 9.22 percent compared to January - March 2020.
• The largest non-oil and gas export destination country in January - March 2021 was Japan, reaching USD 777.70 million (with a role of 16.44 percent) followed by exports to the United States amounting to USD 748.46 million (with a role of 15.82 percent) and to China amounting to USD 581.69 million (with a role of 12.30 percent). Non-oil and gas exports to the ASEAN region reached USD 860.08 million (with a contribution of 18.18 percent), while non-oil and gas exports to the European Union amounted to USD 416.78 million (with a contribution of 8.81 percent).

• The Import Value of East Java in March 2021 reached USD 2.36 billion or an increase of 25.87 percent compared to February 2021. This figure increased by 31.64 percent compared to March 2020.
• Non-oil and gas imports in March 2021 reached USD 1.76 billion, an increase of 14.98 percent compared to February 2021. The value of non-oil and gas imports increased by 18.07 percent compared to March 2020.
• Oil and gas imports in March 2021 amounted to USD 593.28 million, an increase of 75.23 percent compared to February 2021. Compared to March 2020, this value also increased by 100.02 percent.
• The main categories of non-oil and gas imports in March 2021 were the food industry waste / waste goods (HS 23) for USD 204.43 million, the next for the Iron and Steel goods (HS 72) for USD 150.35 million and the Machinery for Machinery category. / Mechanical aircraft (HS 84) USD 143.40 million.
• Cumulatively, during January - March 2021, imports entering East Java amounted to USD 5.98 billion, an increase of 10.27 percent compared to January - March 2020, which was USD 5.42 billion
• The country of origin of the largest non-oil imports from January to March 2021 from China amounted to USD 1.29 billion (27.57 percent), followed by the United States at USD 331.53 million (7.07 percent) and imports from Australia amounting to USD 226.34 million (4.82 percent). Non-oil and gas imports from the ASEAN group of countries amounted to USD 626.45 million (13.35 percent), while non-oil and gas imports from the European Union reached USD 344.95 million (7.35 percent).
